Suddenly shutting down can be an unwelcome surprise, especially if you are in the middle of something. Follow along to find out what's causing the shutdowns and how to prevent them from happening again.

Run the Diagnostics under the Support Tab in the Members app.
Try to submit feedback to Samsung using these steps: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Send-Feedback/ba-p/3001692
If the troubleshooting is not helpful, the phone will need to be evaluated by a certified technician. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864

Last night (28/05/2025), I had a new update to install on my phone. I have a Samsung Flip 4, model SM-F721B.
I have come across a strange issue that has never happened before. After getting this update, my phone automatically shuts down when I take it off charge, and when I close the screen. This also happens even whem I am on my home screen. I have to turn it back on again, and leave it open, otherwise it turns off completely when I close it. The charge is always at full power when I turn it back on, so it isn't the battery life.
When my phone is on charge, it stays on, and shows me the cover screen as well. No matter how many times I've tried to fix this, it keeps turning off immediately after taking it off charge and when I close my phone, and takes quite some time to actually restart and turn on.
At first I thought it was some weird new gimic to the updates, but there was nothing explaing this weird situation.
May I please have some help? I've only had this phone for about two years, and I haven't had a problem like this before.
