The location of this option has moved in the latest update.  Does anyone know where it currently is?

Used to be under hotspot settings, but it's been consistently moving around after updates, I can no longer find the setting location.

Should be under wireless & networks or connections in device settings.

I agree. Are you able to see that on a Galaxy with the latest update? It's moved about 6 times in the last 6 years, and it's been in some pretty strange places over that time frame. With the latest update, I've been unable to track it down.

@userZzlYVFsJnX I'm trying to understand what you are looking for. Hotspot is sharing via Wi-Fi.

Do you mean Wi-Fi Direct? If so:

  1. Open phone settings
  2. Click on Connections
  3. Click on Wi-Fi
  4. Click the 3 dot menu in upper right and select Wi-Fi Direct.

I'm looking for wi-fi sharing. I used to be able to share my wifi with up to 10 devices. I have devices that use wifi and don't have browser access, which makes this feature important for me.

Previously, I would enable Wi-Fi sharing and then turn on the hotspot. After each update this setting defaults back to disabled (forcing me to turn off wifi when I enable hotspot).

I usually have to spend some amount of time hunting for the new setting location because it moves quite a bit. This time I cannot find it.

@userZzlYVFsJnX What you are describing is Wifi Hotspot. You can find that in:

  1. Open phone settings
  2. Click on Connections
  3. Click on Mobile hotspot and Tethering
  4. Click on Mobile Hotspot
  5. Make any desired changes to Network name, password, etc. and then enable it

That pops up with a notification that wifi must be turned off because wifi sharing is disabled, to share your wifi connection, enable wifi sharing

Does your carrier plan include wifi Hotspot? It sounds like it doesn't.

@LongHiker, as I understand it, mobile hotspot turns mobile data into an internet connection which can be shared by up to 10 devices. Sharing an internet connection must be done via BT tethering.

I just got some kind of Google services update today called "cross device services". In reading what can be done, it's explicitly stated that Samsung phones do not support wi-fi sharing directly, meaning if one is connected to a wifi network, *that* connection cannot be shared.(explains a lot for me, actually). So, is the OP trying to share wi-fi or just create a shared internet connection?
