I recently was given the prompt to update to OneUI 6 on my unlocked Fold 4 (along with another security system update once it was done installing, specifically the Jan 1, 2024 update). I haven't changed my usage habits, but it feels like my battery is dying way faster than it previously did, and I keep having to turn on power saving mode until I can get somewhere to charge. I have taken many steps to protect my battery health since I got the phone at release, such as using Protect Battery (85% charge limit), only using fast charging when absolutely needed, and trying to keep the battery above 20%. Has anyone else noticed this? It's starting to really annoy me, and power saving mode doesn't seem to be nearly as effective as it used to be, either.

Because of the update to the operating system, it kinda reset your battery pattern habits. It will improve in 2 weeks.

I hope so, because I'm now having to carry around a battery bank and other charging equipment with me when I did not need to do so a few days ago. This did not happen with any of the previous major updates to OneUI.

You should try a Wipe cache partition and repair apps.
That should fix some Power drain too

Hello SirBilliam, We understand how frustrating it is for the battery to be draining quickly. As suggested by @Robin621k, clearing the cache partition and repairing the apps after an update is a helpful way to save battery and clear corrupt files that may be stored on the phone. Here are the steps, if needed:

To get to recovery mode:
- Turn off phone
- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously
- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears
- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET)
- Use power button to select.
- Run the repair apps option and your device will restart.

We do have some information for the battery draining while on 5G here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01201462/

You can find more information for optimizing the phone here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00078987/

If you've tried troubleshooting above, and continue to experience battery drain, repairs would be recommended.
