Can I use Samsung Pass without the biometrics?

I just got my Fold 5 and am trying to use Samsung Pass to save passwords, but although I log in when asked, it then wants me to set up biometrics with a fingerprint. Screen protectors don't allow that function to work and even if they did, when you're as old as I am, you'll find out that your fingerprints wear off with age (and no, I'm not kidding), so stuff requiring fingerprints don't work. I don't want to use the biometrics feature, but I still want my passwords saved. Can I get around this? If not, is there a password remembering app you can recommend so I can skip this altogether?

Thanks!

A pin/password should be allowed as long as no fingerprints are registered to the device.

I'm happy we settled this question! This info will definitely be useful to other Community Members who are wondering about this in the future! 🙂

Hello! Unfortunately, I don't believe it is possible to use Samsung Pass without having at least 1 fingerprint registered. 😞

Have you tried checking if facial recognition works?

Thanks for your response!

It hasn't asked for facial recognition, only fingerprint. Is there a way to prompt it for facial recognition?

Well, it never accepted my fingerprint, for the reasons I mentioned (namely, I'm older than dirt), so that's not a problem!

I'm #58 in line for Samsung's online support folks, so if I live long enough, I might get an answer from them. Although I'm not hopeful... Meanwhile, I'll go look for a password-saving app that doesn't require stuff some of us can't provide.

Thanks!

You're right that it's not an option. Any suggestions for a good password remembering app that doesn't require biometrics?

So many devices don't have fingerprint readers, my Tab S4 for 1.  I use Samsung Pass for that and it uses the camera to scan my eyes.

Try deleting your fingerprints and set up Face recognition in the lock Screen and see if Pass, or 1Password prompt you for your face since that is what will be enabled on the tablet.

1Password can use FaceID

Even Samsung Pass should use whatever you have set up for your lockscreen.

I just use a numerical password, not facial rec or a pattern

That I did! I know it's not as secure as facial rec, or a fingerprint, but I can't get a fingerprint to work.
