Battery protection stopped working on Flip 7

Basic battery protection randomly stopped working on a new Flip 7 phone. Adaptive doesnt work either. I tried wiping cache, did absolutely nothing. 

How do I fix it or do I need a replacement?

I tried turning this feature on and off too.
Restarted the phone, cleared app cache.
Tried different chargers.
Tried wireless charge

Battery protection setting gets ignored by the phone and charges it straight to 100% all the time

Basic and adaptive will charge to 100%. If you only want an 80 percent charge, you have to choose maximum.
