Battery Drain - Galaxy Z Fold 7

Hi everyone!

I just switched to the Fold 7 from iPhone and I notice a huge battery drain problem. I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had to charge my phone twice in a day. Anyone else noticing this?

Another thing is I am on Verizon. I notice that the phone will go from 5G UW to 4G LTE predominantly. The 5G UW is not that bad - 3 Bars. Any idea how I can force it to stay on 5G?

I make use of device care and closing apps. Thanks for any feedback!

First 3 weeks the battery is learning your battery habits as the terms goes not mine anyway first 10 or 12 days it will be bad about 12 days you should notice it improving

Battery's in general now I think my theory is the battery saving features get work out all phones seem to go thru the break in now

Maybe I am experiencing battery anxiety but my Z Fold 7 is losing an excessive amount of battery overnight. Somewhere in the range of 10 - 15% on some nights. I've checked Battery and Device Care and nothing appears abnormal. 

I do have AOD enabled but couldn't imagine a front display this size would contribute to such loses. Sometimes I can literally see the battery percentage fall and phone is justing sitting there closed.

Any ideas or troubleshooting steps that be advise would be most helpful.

You know your phone is not idle at night.  It does stuff like look for updates/update, automatic backup.  Also, the night is 7-8 hours long. Do you not lose 10-15% or more in 7 hours during the day?

I'm aware that the phone is not dormant but 10-15% in 5 hours just for backups or updates presents as excessive when my S25 Ultra only drains an average of 5-7% over the same time period. Any input to offer on this?

Check your battery statistics to see what's using the battery. I don't know which device has the more efficient/larger battery.  If the S25 has a larger capacity battery than the Fold, the percentage would appear as less.  The smaller the battery, the larger the percentage for the same usage.

turn off AOD and connect to WiFi whenever possible

One thing maybe to have your location off. Sometimes that can be a factor. Also there maybe an app that might be running in the backround that could be a factor also. And lastly I don't charge my phone over night. I charge it before I go to bed then in the morning I top it off. I have a S 25 Ultra and these things I do seem to keep my phone from draining. Hopefully this will help you. If there's a battery drain issue on other Z Fold 7 phones. They will come out with a fix update.
