I've had my new device for only 2 weeks and I utilized it as a bar phone. Never folded/flipped it until today and after "JUST 3" opens and closes, that center crease is more visibly prominent 😳 Will this screen even 7 years of use 🫤

I've never had that happen on the Flip 5 or 6. The crease looks the same as when it was new. I wouldn't suggest leaving it open all the time. The screen protector scratches a lot easier than tempered glass screen protectors and the actual screen is way more likely to break if you drop it. If you're sliding it in your pocket a lot with it open the screen protector will probably start bubbling sooner. If you're careful with it I'm sure the actual screen will last 7 years but I can guarantee you'll go through at least 7 screen protectors in the amount of time.

Good info. I appreciate the reply. I thought it would be wise to keep it open as much as possible to preserve the hinge mechanism and keep the full screen from creasing any further. Since you've had both the 5 & 6...I'll take your word. I'm new to this flip/fold and Samsung world. Due to the cost of this device, I need it to last a minimum of 7 years while it continues to receive software updates and security patches. Im go into "preservation mode" each time I touch this device...lol...and I keep power saver on at all times and display brightness at a low.

Bro I traded in my flip 4 and only paid 265 before tax for my flip 6 if you stay on the sight everyday you'll find a crazy sale and you can upgrade. But every two years I suggest you switch it up.

Good to know. I'll keep my eye out for the zflip10 in the coming years 😄 since I'm new to Samsung, being so use to Stock Android, I hope/wish Samsung starts developing UIs more closer to "stock". Personally, manufacturer's top layered UIs suck!!!

Hello,

We appreciate you sharing your experience with the crease visibility on your new Flip device. The foldable display is designed for durability and longevity, but we understand that individual usage patterns can sometimes make the crease appear more noticeable over time. Samsung continues to refine foldable technology with each generation to ensure both functionality and durability.

To help maintain the screen's longevity, we recommend:
 > Keeping the device folded when not in use to prevent unnecessary exposure.

> Avoiding excessive pressure on the crease area when interacting with the display

> Using a protective case to minimize potential screen protector wear over time.

For those considering upgrades in the future, Samsung regularly offers trade-in promotions and discounts, making it easier to stay updated with the latest foldable innovations.

We also hear the feedback on One UI vs. stock Android—Samsung's approach is to provide feature-rich enhancements, but we appreciate perspectives on refining the experience for users coming from a stock UI background. Your feedback is valuable in shaping future software improvements.

Thanks for being part of the One UI Beta community—we appreciate all of your insights.

Regards,
One UI Beta Team
