The new One UI 7 has such a cool feature as the Now Bar, which captivates even iOS users with its functionality. However, this function works correctly, beautifully, and consistently only in the software build for the S25 series. Judging by the first beta version of the One UI 7 firmware for the S23 series, the Now Bar has a location that is not similar to the S25, and on the Always-On-Display, it generally moves out of place and does not stand in the middle of the screen, but at the edges, which looks aesthetically unpleasant. Yes. I know that this was done to prevent burn-in of the AMOLED screen due to the old display technology on the S23/S24 series phones. However, there is a compromise that will help to avoid such a flaw in the user interface. For example, AOD has a "Show on press" mode, which does not make the screen burn all the time, which is very useful. In this mode, it is purely logical to assume that the Now Bar and the location of the clock/time/date and widgets should be the same as on a simple lock screen. Also, if you make an animation of the transition from AOD to the lock screen and vice versa, it will be cool, even very cool. Please understand that even if this is a trifle for many people, for some users who are avid fans of your creation, it is very important to have a beautiful interface that surpasses its competitors in the smartphone market in everything. If you take my wishes into account in the final or next beta test build of the software, I will be very grateful!

Hello,

Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful feedback on the Now Barā€™s placement and behavior on Always-On Display (AOD) in One UI 7. We appreciate your attention to design consistency and user experience, as well as your suggestion for improving AOD aesthetics.

We understand that the Now Barā€™s positioning differs on older display technologies like those on the S23/S24 series to help prevent AMOLED burn-in. However, your idea of using the ā€œShow on Pressā€ mode to maintain consistent alignment with the Lock Screen is an interesting compromise that could enhance the overall UI experience. Additionally, the idea of a smooth animation transition between AOD and the Lock Screen is a great suggestion that could further elevate One UIā€™s fluidity and aesthetic appeal.

We will make sure your feedback is shared with the relevant teams for consideration in future refinements. Samsung remains committed to delivering a polished and visually appealing user experience, and input from passionate users like you helps shape the evolution of One UI.

Thank you again for being a valued member of the One UI Beta communityā€”we appreciate your insights and look forward to hearing more of your ideas!

Regards,
One UI Beta Team
