Yo, Samsung’s kinda dropping the ball lately. I’ve been ride-or-die for them for over 12 years—phones, laptops, you name it. But honestly, I’m over it. Their software updates are sloooow, and it feels like they’re getting lazy with no real competition pushing them. Can’t they just fix basic stuff? Like, why’s there no blur effect on lock screen notifications? And their apps? Total mess, no consistency.

Last year, I tried the Pixel 8 Pro. The animations were slick, and the software was fun to use, but the battery life? Trash. Plus, it kept overheating, so I sent it back after a week. Meanwhile, iOS 26’s new design is pretty dope, except for the Control Center—though I bet they’ll sort that out. Google’s got that expressive vibe going, but Samsung’s design? It’s all over the place.

I’m out here hyping Samsung up to my friends and family, saying they’re getting better, but then other companies just leap ahead. Like, iOS 26 is killing it, and don’t get me started on HarmonyOS or other Chinese brands—they’re crushing it with hardware, battery life, cameras, and UI. I could go on, but I’ll chill for now. Honestly, why am I stressing myself out sending feedback and feature requests to Samsung? It’s exhausting.

Every time I get a new Samsung phone, I’m stuck tweaking a million settings because they don’t bake Goodlock’s features into the main system. Most people don’t even know those features exist—they’re not gonna download an app just to make animations smoother or set the transition speed to 1.2. Oh, and don’t get me started on developer options—1 is way too fast, 1.5 is too slow, but 1.2? Perfect. I shouldn’t need a third-party app like SamHelper for that.

If Samsung doesn’t step up their battery, OneUI design and camera game next year, I’m done. I’ll jump ship to Google or Apple, no question.

I actually love having a device where you have to dig around for the good stuff.

My husband just turns on his phone and is good to go! He could not care less about customization, and most people don't either. Ha! Which is totally fine.
I also have many iPhone users who definitely don't care about all the new and exciting things they can do with their phones to tweak them, or any of the advanced features.
I actually really like One UI. It's been an amazing journey to be able to participate in these tests. My first one was the OG One UI debut and wow! How far Samsung has come. I'm digging it.

But I definitely agree that the change a few things every year to get people to buy the newest model is something that most companies should try to pivot away from with the way the world is going. I'm so happy with 7 years of support. I've never kept a phone that long but it would be nice to try.

I agree 👍 with you. I started using Samsung when they had the s10 line I think was my first flagship. I had the plus or the higher 1. I don't remember what the higher 1 was? But I definitely feel like they have came a long way and I'm loving everything about them myself and I love the betas too. So many nice people and I learn every time I participate. I was holding out on my S24 because I wanted to keep it but my battery 🔋 went to pot after a year and a half of a great phone so I used jump on tmobile and the S25 is sooooooooooooooo much better than the S24 and I love customization of everything myself and I use it for everything too. I like to try out everything that I can and like digging around and discovering new things myself. I never had a phone for 7 years either lol 😁 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

Thats so hilarious cause apple has so many bugs even on stable build lmao. No OS/UI is without bugs. You failed to mention the actual problems you have with the OS. I agree the samsung dev team are not that fast with fixing things, but they do it eventually.

I mean look at the xiaomi 15 and that amazing little beast that is from last year then look at our American devices and ask yourself why we keep using your phrase and election corrupt born rich ignorant politicians like the orange one.
