Samsung has always been my favorite brand; I would say I have part of the ecosystem, from TVs to mobile devices and watches. But currently, Samsung has entered a state of incredible decline. Not only do they not innovate in hardware, but they also fail to provide timely updates. It is unacceptable to have paid $1400 USD for a device (S24 Ultra) and not receive Android updates on time. The beta 2 of Android 16 has already been announced, and Samsung still has not delivered the stable version of One UI with Android 15. I am very disappointed and am seriously considering leaving the brand, as it leaves much to be desired.

Pd; Not to mention the unjustified cost inflation and downgrading of device quality (S25 Ultra camera rings and the Spen for example)

I am a fairly recent convert to the Samsung ecosystem, and coming from iPhone, I feel this. I initially switched because of the appeal of foldables.

The Z flip 5 was genuinely my favorite form factor of any phone I have ever had. I wrote off a lot of the software inconsistencies because I figured the new, experimental form factor was to blame.

I got sick of the crease, the plastic screen, the peeling of the screen protector, but most of all, the atrocious battery.

So I traded it in for an S24+. I LOVE the hardware. The software experience is still pretty rough in certain ways. Don't get me wrong, One UI 7 is a huge leap forward in terms of usability, but it is still difficult not to look back over my shoulder and long for the walled garden.

You have the schedule? How do you know what's on time or not?
Maybe other devices dont care if they push out buggy software because they only have a tiny user base compared to Samsung.
There's really nothing special about the update that's worth the tradeoff of stability.
It's mostly just a number.

You should understand the seriousness of the matter, Samsung promised 7 years of update for the S24 ultra, already the device turned 1 year old and Samsung still does not fulfill its promise of update, and they have only limited themselves to delaying the update further. At this rate, we will only receive 5 or 6 updates for the device, that means they do not worry about providing a good consumer experience properly after paying $1400 for the device.
