I was just wondering if anyone else is having an issue with Facebook (Meta) Messenger not giving notifications? I noticed this in beta 3 or 4 and now on beta 5 still not working.

The Messenger works fine it just won't let you know that you got a message or Chat heads no longer pop up.

I have sent reports and screenshots to both Meta and Samsung.

Things I tried: I cleared cache partition and ran Galaxy App Booster. I cleared Messenger cache. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Messenger. I made sure all permissions and settings are correct. I even joined the Messenger beta thinking maybe they have a fix but still not working.

Again, the Messenger works just fine, I can still message people like normal it's just very frustrating that I have to check for messages manually.

I understand that I'm running One UI beta 5 and not all things will work as expected but I just wanted to get this out there so this can be fixed when we get the final version. If anyone knows a fix please share I would really appreciate it.

Have you checked your phone's power management settings? Sometimes the OS will close an app to save battery, which could be why you're not getting notifications.

Thank you for your reply. I double checked and I don't have Power Saving or adaptive power saving turned on so I don't think it's that.

Since youโ€™ve already put in a ticket, one thing you might try while waiting is just double-checking a few settings that sometimes trip me up:

In Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ [app name] โ†’ Battery, make sure itโ€™s on Unrestricted.

Under Battery and device care โ†’ Battery โ†’ Background usage limits, check that itโ€™s not in Sleeping or Restricted apps.

You can also peek at Optimize battery usage and toggle it off for the app if needed.

It might not fix it, but Iโ€™ve had notifications blocked before for those exact reasons, so worth a quick look.

Thank you for your reply.

I did set the battery to unrestricted.

And I also made sure it's not in sleeping or restricted apps.

I just tested it and still not working ๐Ÿ˜•

I just wanted to add that Beta 6 still has not fixed the Messenger issue I have. I did clear the partition cache and ran Galaxy App Booster and still nothing.
