I’m really loving my S24 Ultra, but there’s one issue I’ve been facing that’s been frustrating — constant GPS and location usage, which is leading to excessive battery drain. Even when I’m not actively using any location-based apps, the GPS icon stays on, eating away at my battery.
But this isn’t just about the GPS bug. Battery life has been bad overall since I first started using the phone, and it’s something that’s carried over even into the One UI 7 Beta 6. In fact, even on a good day, I’m only getting 4 hours and 30 minutes MAX screen-on time, and that's not with heavy usage. I do light gaming, scroll through social media a bit, and text my friends — yet I can’t make it through the day without needing to charge. Since I got the phone three months ago, battery life hasn’t been anywhere near what I expected from a premium flagship like the S24 Ultra. I should easily be able to get a full day’s use out of this phone, and ideally have battery left over at the end of the day. Instead, I’m constantly looking for ways to conserve battery, which shouldn't be the case.
What I Expect:
• Better background battery management: I shouldn’t have to keep toggling off location services manually just to save battery.
• Improved screen-on time: With the specs of the S24 Ultra, I expect to see better screen-on time even with moderate usage.
• No unexpected battery drain: The phone should manage background apps and GPS intelligently so that my battery isn’t constantly being drained by things I’m not actively using.
Please make battery life a priority in future updates. The S24 Ultra is a top-tier device — it deserves battery performance that matches. Right now, it’s been disappointing, and I hope this is something Samsung can improve going forward.
