I'm using the default theme, default color palette.

Some apps have a weird appearance, like:
Gboard in dark mode,
Chrome in light mode,
Google Play Store's drawer in dark mode,
Google messages in dark mode,
and so on (mostly Google apps).

The correct dark mode behavior (I think) should be gray widgets/buttons with black background. What I got is completely different. They got gray background and black buttons.

And for Chrome in light mode, the app background is seems light gray, and the text in search bar is not clear to read.

Here's an example, using Samsung note app against Gboard. The color tone is obviously different. But this is not affecting Samsung keyboard.

Gboard & note app, dark mode.

I believe the color palette is not like this in One UI 8.0. And what I think is that this color palette is not "dark" enough overall, breaking the UI contrast balance.

Same thing here, for some reason enabling Color Pallete in settings fixes it. For me it only happens to Google apps / apps that use Material theming.

If you're expecting Google apps to have a pure black background like Samsung's apps, that is not a bug. Google doesn't believe in pure black and opts for dark gray instead.
