Why does it feel like this new A17 5G phone is lagging as if it doesn't have good performance. The One UI Version it has is 8.0 and the Android Version is 16 and the Google Play System Update is September 1, 2025 but for some reason it still feel like it lagging and why on social platform of FB does it says logging out please sign in again. Someone give me some advice on what it could be wrong with that new phone that just came out early this month on the 6th or 7th I wanna say. Let me know if you have the same phone and is it lagging or not and what have you done to keep it up to date, is that the latest Software update for the phone by the way

Trying to find the nicest way to say it. But it's a A series device. It's been my experience any Galaxy A anything I've ever had was a laggy beast. Mid range specs at best in a flagship world really. Apps and websites (especially video platforms - YouTube, tiktok, stuff like that) have a higher spec demand that the S Series (S20 and up basically) and iPhones can handle with ease. But the lower tier midrange devices struggle when you throw stuff at them. Just my take.

On a side note if you're budgeted for A series phones, you're better off saving your money and picking up something like an S21 Ultra or something like that. Those are around $200 or less in used markets and can still scream through modern day apps and tasks.

This is happening on a gz fold 7 too, Internet has a long pause before seeing a response. Started after the January updates.

Nothing is โ€œwrongโ€ with your phone. The Galaxy A17 5G is a budget/mid-range device, so lag is normalโ€”especially with One UI 8 + Android 16, which is still new and not fully optimized for A-series hardware. Heavy apps like Facebook also cause slowdowns and login bugs (that logout message is a Facebook app issue, not your phone).
Why it feels laggy:
Modest processor + low RAM (often 4โ€“6 GB)
New software still being optimized
Heavy social apps running in background
What helps:
Restart daily
Update all apps + system
Clear Facebook cache or reinstall it
Reduce animations
Restrict background apps
Yes, your software sounds up to date for now. More optimization updates should improve things over time.

I would automatically schedule a restart in device care everyday at a certain time when you are asleep. This helps clear memory hugging apps from ROM and keeps your device functioning well. If you are using 90 Hz refresh rate you might experience lag if you leave too many apps open at once. 60hz for me or Auto Its considered a budget phone its one of Samsungs best secrets when it comes to durability and reliability.

128gb or upwards is safe for getting that extra boost in storage and having a faster experience with this telephone. 64 GB with app sizes that are always being updated and expanding you'll experience more hiccups.

Aim for less than 40 GB of installed apps.

4gb ram is your main issue if you expect it to be fast
