  • Hi, am new here and wondering if I'm posting in right place. Haven't had a Samsung before and have set it up with everything fine. But recently when I press the numbers on the keypad to make a call, my contacts are showing at the top of the page. Tried everything, help please. Thx

This is normal behavior. If you start to dial a number and the number matches a contact, or a number in your call log, it will be listed at the top of the call screen so you can just tap the matching entry to complete the call so you don't have to dial the full number. If the number you are dialing does not belong to a contact, you would just complete dialing the full number. You will see the contact name at the top when you initiate the call from the contact listing as confirmation you are calling the correct number.

T9 dialing is one of the awesome features of your new Samsung phone.

This allows you to dial a contact name using corresponding letters on the keypad rather than remembering their phone number.

For example, to call my friend "Scott," I can dial "7268" and with each number dialed, the phone will do process of elimination until the desired contact card appears.

This allows you to have specific numbers you know get you to specific contact examples. For another example, "666" calls Mom (which may or may not be comical depending on your relationship with your mother 😂)

All in all, @nullandvoid is correct that this is the expected behavior. It is actually one of the features I miss most in cases where I have had to borrow/temporarily use an iPhone!
