A Series & Other MobileAfter yesterday's update instead of the side button on my A14 showing turn off options, it loaded Gemini. Completely baffled and thinking I may have to remove the battery to turn it off I resorted to googling the problem. There I found that without notifying users Samsung changed it in the update. Luckily it also explained how to switch it back. Isn't it common courtesy and common sense for the company to let users know when making alterations like this? I'll answer my own question...yes! No wonder I dread all these frequent updates, and think that some of the changes are for changes sake. If it ain't broken etc!

A Series & Other Mobile1) Hold side key and volume down simultaneously.
2) Access the power menu via quick settings. Pull down from the top right corner of the screen where the battery and signal indicators are. Then tap the power icon (top right) to open the power menu.
3) Ask your preferred voice assistant (Gemini or Bixby) to power down your device.
Also, if you want to change the behavior of the side button to open the power menu instead of voice assistant, you can!
Settings > Advanced Features > Side Button > Long Press > power off menu
Hope this helps!

A Series & Other MobileYes thanks, I tried the both buttons method but no joy it just kept going to volume. Finally altered the side button back to where it was before the update changed it. My point was that if Samsung are going to fiddle around with previously acceptable settings that we are familiar with, then for heaven's sake send out a message with where they are and how to revert to them. These characters responsible for these constant updates would be the first to complain if something in their day to day life was suddenly unavailable, and they weren't told why and where it ended up. It's extremely irritating, annoying and highly unprofessional. Let people know what you are doing...how difficult is that?

A Series & Other MobileI'll ignore the sarcasm and just say that this obsession with change for changes sake is extremely tiresome and in many cases totally unnecessary. People trying to justify their existence and pouncing on things that work very well just because it's not been changed for some time and in their minds that means there's something wrong with it.
