I hate this update

The new ui 7 update is horrible. The music control panel on the lock screen is way too small, i need a microscope to know what is there. The battery icon looks like a pill, why was it changed. I didn't even know it was for the battery for a few minutes. The spilt settings menus should have been an option i had to turn on, not off. Was this the "make everything awful" update?

How do I go back?

 I don't know why  you think you need a magnifying glass to see the music player control on the lock screen's Now bar, looks fine to me.  However, you can add a widget for the music player of your preference to the lock screen and just turn everything off on the Now bar and then it won't show.

I can't add a Spotify widget to lock screen.

You can add any app that has a widget.  You have to use Good Lock/Lock Star.  Then you can tap lock star on the lock screen, tap widgets and add your widget..

The now bar has a mini view and an expanded view for all content.

Have you tried expanding the nowbar to its full size by tapping a non-interactive area, such as album art or song title? The size, shape, and appearance of the expanded now bar player is nearly identical to the legacy media player.
