Just in case this is a specific A53 issue..
I had a update notification this morning, so as usual I updated
Update to UI8 and Android 16 seems to go ok but on restart no phone service. Investigation showed it not detecting sim.
I tested sim in old S6 phone and its fine.
Desperate, I did a factory reset . After reloading everything , including UI 8 unfortunately, still a brick
Lass than a year ago, I bought a phone Samsung not a small tablet .
Thoroughly upset with Samsung ATM.

A Series & Other MobileI've only just realised this is a US site and I'm in the UK. I'll continue on the UK site.
I have been able to raise an error report via the members app and received an acknowledgement from Samsung.
Thanks for your help
best regards
Bill

A Series & Other MobileHi, Bill. Regardless of your locale, I do not think this is just you. I also have an A53 here in the US, and have tried all the suggested solutions to fix the "no service" issue, but it is still without service. Sure enough, I moved that SIM into an older phone I had (A51), and my service is perfectly fine. But I cannot stand the back-and-forth with my data, let alone the fact that my backups aren't backwards compatible with an A51 that isn't receiving any more updates.
I have used Samsung for years and have never had an update do something like this, but I'm very aggravated and disappointed. All Samsung chat did was tell me to visit a service provider or send in my phone for repair, but I don't have much any money to do that. And yet still, I wonder, how can it be a hardware issue when the only thing that happened, the only altering variable, was that One UI 8 update?!
The fact that this update had to be pulled from some of their S line phones for firmware issues in October doesn't help to support anything either.
For now, I'm still trying to diagnose, but I might just be stuck waiting for a patch in the desperate hope that that's all it is... but who knows when Samsung will release one

A Series & Other MobileSorry to hear you guys have the same trouble 😞
BTW have you noticed that the GPS has also stopped working properly
But, I'm glad this is a larger issue than some odd interaction with installed software .
my model is SM-A536U1/DS does that match yours ?
Also have you noticed that the GPS has also stopped working properly? Mine only picks up one satellite instead of 30+.
I wonder if they've left some debug code in the release version ?

A Series & Other MobileWe seem to be part of a large growing club. I've had several replies from members in the Uk .
Let's hope Samsung will be swift with the fix
