Just in case this is a specific A53 issue..
I had a update notification this morning, so as usual I updated
Update to UI8 and Android 16 seems to go ok but on restart no phone service. Investigation showed it not detecting sim.
I tested sim in old S6 phone and its fine.
Desperate, I did a factory reset . After reloading everything , including UI 8 unfortunately, still a brick
Lass than a year ago, I bought a phone Samsung not a small tablet .
Thoroughly upset with Samsung ATM.

A Series & Other MobileI've only just realised this is a US site and I'm in the UK. I'll continue on the UK site.
I have been able to raise an error report via the members app and received an acknowledgement from Samsung.
Thanks for your help
best regards

A Series & Other MobileYou should do the following:
1. Open the support tab of the members app, select text help and allow the support agent access to your phone.
2. If they cannot help you fix it, put in an error report.
3. I know you reset your phone, but that does not necessarily (I don't think) reset the mobile network, especially if you restored your backup. You may have to do that manually. Go to Advanced settings/reset and select "reset mobile network".
Just FYI, the term "bricking" means that your phone is not usable at all for any purpose. You lost a function on the device, and that can be fixed.

A Series & Other MobileThanks,
To be clear, I have done most of the suggestions found online including resetting mobile networks pre and post factory reset.
I have just tried a different sim and a sim in both side of the slot (although I'm not sure this model has actually dual sim connections)
Brick, yes I've been around long enough to know what brick means , but ATM it seems pretty brick-like , for a phone 😉
I will try online support, thanks for your suggestion.

A Series & Other MobileBut, did you reset the network after you restored your backup? The possibility exists that the carrier needs to reprovision your phone, but see what tech support has to say.

A Series & Other MobileI've reset the network settings many many times. I think my best chance ATM is reverting to earlier firmware, some way.
As to carrier issues , it does not read the sim all. It simply doesn't know whether a sim is installed or not.
I have tested another sim on both the a53 and S6 same results.

A Series & Other MobileThe carrier can still re-provision the phone, but you were going to see what text support had to say.

A Series & Other MobileText support.
I have been trying but I find this option. There's chat which only seems to be an AI sales bot
I may have to stop before I smash the thing with a hammer and buy some other manufacturers potential brick.

A Series & Other MobileI run two A53. One on Tracfone and one on Mint Mobile. It didn't matter, which carrier SIM was in the phone it would not detect. Again the SIM worked fine in the phone that had not been updated.

A Series & Other MobileNot getting far with thesmart tutor remote support option, says it wants to be allowed remote access permissions but the appear to be no such options in the permissions list.
I given it access to all it should require but it seems to want access to wellness data which is unacceptable.
