A Series & Other MobileI am using an A53 on T-Mobile and everything was working OK until the day before yesterday when the Android 16 / One UI 8 update was applied, now my phone is saying the SIM card is no longer recognized. I went into the carrier local office and they swapped out the SIM with a new one, same issue. They then took that SIM into an different phone and it worked, this is clearly an issue introduced with the update. Going through the message boards it is easy to find other instances of the same issue occurring on other Samsung phones.
While not a brick, the phone is useless right now, is there anything that I can do to get this phone working again?

A Series & Other MobileI posted an error report using the Samsung Members app and surprisingly received a reply: "Thank you for submitting the error report, We apologize for the inconvenience this issue may have caused you. We have raised this issue to our Developers for further evaluation. We will get back to you as soon as an update becomes available."
I am not optimistic about a quick fix.

A Series & Other MobileI spent couple hours with support through samsung members app, texting back and forth. I was told to do a factory reset, after saving my data. Did reset twice! Still doesn't recognize good sim in my A53. Was then told it needed service/repair. I won't be requesting service where it surely is obvious it is a software malady.

A Series & Other MobileI did the same - very frustrating. It seems as if opening a support request via the Samsung Member App may also be a good avenue for reporting issues.

A Series & Other MobileI've had the same thing happen to me. I was actually able to reinstall the old version and it worked until it forced the update again. Now it won't let me reinstall the old version again as I did before. It still doesn't recognize the sim card at all, like it's not there. I've even had a new sim sent, and it still didn't fix it. It is a corrupted update that seems to be specific to tmobile and the a53. Other a53s on tracfone were not affected.

A Series & Other MobileUsed the Odin tool and downloaded the appropriate files for my phone version.
It worked once, and now I can't get it to work again.
Hmm, Auto blocker is on. Might be why it won't reload. I'll repost when I try.

A Series & Other MobileThis seems to be a "feature" from samsung: _link_
Samsung forces the CSC of the phone back to the original one, and locks it so you cannot change it any more. All phones travelling outside of their region are made useless.
