Biometrics for Work Profile not available in Android Enterprise

I have activated 2 different S25 devices in Intune with Android Enterprise and cannot enable biometrics for the work profile. I am able to do this on my S22 by going to Security and Privacy / More security settings / Work profile security and setting "Fingerprints" and "Face recognition" however, these options are *not* available on the S25. Is this a bug?

Those are available in settings/Lock screen and AOD, then Screen lock and biometrics.

That is for the personal profile. When activated with Android Enterprise, the biometrics for the work profile are supposed to be located in Security and Privacy / More security settings / Work profile security. The settings are not there.

The issue is not with activation but with using biometrics in the work profile. This is something that is supposed to work as far as I am aware. It does work on the S22 but do not know if it also works on the S23/S24.

Edit: I have just confirmed that it *does* work on S23 and S24 devices, so it's an S25 issue.

Then perhaps IT in your company can. AFAIK and have read, this needs to be setup or an authentication app needs to be used. Did you setup the S22 on your own?

I am an Intune admin which is why I'm trying to find a resolution for this issue. The devices I have checked all have the exact same policies applied and are activated with Android Enterprise (Android (Personally-Owned Work Profile)). So the S22, 23 and 24 have the ability to do biometrics in the work space but the S25's to not.

I appreciate you trying to help out. I was really looking for confirmation that this was a known issue as I have asked on the Samsung Reddit as well (a few weeks ago) and got no response. My regular searches didn't really find anyone else reporting the issue.
I guess we'll have to wait and see if it gets fixed. I did see the bit about installing the "Android device policy" app but I believe that was in reference to people who were having trouble actually enrolling devices.

No it's still available on my S8 Ultra and not the S24 Ultra running one UI 7. This was broken with One UI 7. I'm the one who setup my companies Intune.

The S24 Ultra on latest One UI 7 beta update lost the biometrics option to. My Tab S8 has it.

It works, if you de-select the "Use one lock" option. For security reasons, the Work profile will not have access to the biometrics stored with the Personal profile (and the other way around). You have to register your fingerprints again in the Work profile. You can set the same PIN or Password for both profiles.

It shows a blank screen like this when trying to add fingerprints in the work profile with one lock off, it is not possible to add.

I was able to enable it once everything was set up by going to Settings -> Security and Privacy -> More security settings -> Work profile security -> Work profile lock -> Fingerprints -> Fingerprint unlock

I came across this post as I encountered a similar problem on my a73. In my case, I was trying to toggle on fingerprint unlock for a bank app in my work profile.

What worked for me is Settings > Security and Privacy > More security Settings > Work Profile Security. From there, there is an option to untoggle the "Use one lock" and I did, then I went to Work profile lock where I was able to add a pin (can be same or different from the personal profile), add face recognition, and add fingerprints. I'm now able to use fingerprint unlock in my work profile apps.

The FULL and correct answer, on my S25U running OneUI 8.0 is this:

1. Go to Settings -> Identity Check and then temporarily disable Identity Check if it's currently enabled

2. Go to Settings -> Work Profile Security and disable "Use one lock"

3. Under "Work profile lock", set up your fingerprints. You CAN use the same PIN/password as your lock screen which is what I did

4. Not critical, but I'd turn Identity Check back on

If you don't turn off Identity Check, then when you go to enroll your fingerprints you will either be met with a blank screen or the settings app will crash
